SyntoniaRituals
SyntoniaRituals is designed to remain a focused, self-contained instrument. If something does not behave as expected, the notes below cover the most common situations.

Please include:
- your iPhone or iPad model;
- the iOS or iPadOS version;
- the SyntoniaRituals version and build number shown in Settings;
- what you were doing when the problem appeared;
- a screenshot or short screen recording, when useful.
Do not include sensitive personal information. SyntoniaRituals has no user account, so a password or sign-in detail will never be needed for support.
No sound
- Turn on audio with the power control in the bottom toolbar.
- Check the device volume and, where shown, the app’s master volume control.
- Check whether sound is being routed to Bluetooth headphones, AirPlay, USB audio, or another connected device.
- Strike a bowl directly in the Live Rig before testing a saved Ritual.
- If audio still does not start, close and reopen SyntoniaRituals, then include relevant information from Settings → Diagnostics with your support request.
To choose whether audio starts automatically on the next launch, open Settings → Audio → Audio on Startup.
Playing a Singing Bowl
- Tap the bowl or use its Strike control to hear it ring.
- Move around the rim continuously to build a rubbing tone.
- Allow a short moment for continuous rubbing to gather resonance.
- Pinch to dampen a ringing bowl.
- Choose a bowl from the Library. Free lets you replace the single Live Rig bowl; Pro lets you add bowls up to a total of four.
In Settings → Rim Pad Expression, enable Strike Strength from Position or Rubbing Pressure from Position to make your position inside the bowl affect the gesture. Move outward for a firmer response.
Apple Pencil and playing comfort
To use a compatible Apple Pencil on iPad, turn on Settings → Rim Pad Expression → Enable Apple Pencil. With the default mapping, a pressure-sensitive Pencil controls strike brightness and rubbing pressure. Finger playing remains available.
Pro adds Advanced Pencil Mapping with adjustable sensitivity. Touch or hover over a bowl to detect supported inputs. Hover needs a compatible iPad and Pencil; barrel rotation and squeeze need Apple Pencil Pro. Controls for unavailable inputs remain dimmed.
For left- or right-handed comfort, use Settings → Performance Layout → Swap Landscape Sides. Live Rig at Bottom moves the bowls below the sequencer in portrait.
Free, Pro and restoring a purchase
Free includes one Live Rig bowl, Bronze Reverie and Ceramic Earth, six selectable frequency references, an editable five-step Default Ritual, and two fullscreen visualizers. You can browse the complete factory catalogue and its descriptions. Numeric frequency readouts in the Library are available with Pro.
Character, Bloom and Motion, six bowl voicings, the default Pencil response, and all reverb and delay controls are included in Free. Pro adds the full bowl collection, up to four Live Rig bowls, detailed sound editing, saved personal bowls and frequencies, named Rituals with up to 64 steps, all ten visualizers, and Advanced Pencil Mapping.
Pro is an optional one-time purchase with no subscription. If you have already purchased it but its features are unavailable, open Settings, select SyntoniaRituals Pro, then tap Restore Purchases. Use the App Store account that made the purchase. An internet connection may be needed to contact the App Store.
Restoring a purchase restores Pro access; it does not restore locally saved bowls, frequencies or Rituals.
A Ritual will not start
Check that the Ritual contains at least one step. For each strike or rubbing step, choose a bowl and frequency available in your current version. Silence steps need no sound selection.
If the app reports a missing or unavailable choice, edit the affected step and select another bowl or frequency.
Editing is intentionally limited while a Ritual is playing. Stop playback before adding, removing, or rearranging steps.
Playback paused unexpectedly
Ritual playback pauses when you leave the app, when audio is interrupted, or when the current output device disconnects. Return to SyntoniaRituals, check your audio route, turn audio back on if needed, and resume when you are ready. A Ritual ends after its final step.
The visualizer is unavailable or too active
Close the fullscreen visualizer and open it again. If the problem continues, restart the app.
Tap the fullscreen visualizer to reveal its controls, then tap the current visualizer’s name to open Choose Preset. In Live Controls, reduce Visualizer Speed, Background Speed, Audio Response or Glow. You can also reduce or turn off ambient particles; additional controls depend on the selected visualizer.
SyntoniaRituals automatically uses a calmer visual presentation when your device’s Reduce Motion accessibility setting is enabled.
Saved bowls, frequencies, and Rituals
SyntoniaRituals stores your creations locally on the device. They are not uploaded to a SyntoniaRituals account or cloud service.
Deleting the app removes its local Library and settings. Device backups may contain app data, depending on your backup settings; SyntoniaRituals does not provide its own cloud backup or Library export. The developer cannot recover your creations from a server.
Accessibility
SyntoniaRituals includes VoiceOver labels and actions, layouts that adapt to Larger Text, and a calmer visual presentation for Reduce Motion. Playback controls communicate their state through text and accessibility information as well as colour.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please describe the screen, control, and assistive setting involved in your support email. Accessibility reports are treated as product issues, not optional feedback.
Listening levels
SyntoniaRituals can produce sustained and overlapping tones. Set the device and connected audio equipment to a comfortable level, especially before starting a long Ritual.
