SyntoniaRituals Privacy Policy

A local-first musical instrument

SyntoniaRituals

Effective date: 2th September 2026
Applies to: SyntoniaRituals 1.0 for iPhone and iPad

SyntoniaRituals is designed as a local-first musical instrument. The version covered by this policy does not require an account and does not collect personal data through the app.

Data collection

SyntoniaRituals does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal data.

The app does not include:

  • user accounts or sign-in;
  • advertising or cross-app tracking;
  • analytics or telemetry;
  • third-party crash-reporting services;
  • cloud sync;
  • location, contacts, camera, or photo-library access;
  • microphone recording or analysis of sound around you.

The fullscreen visualizers respond only to audio generated inside SyntoniaRituals. They do not listen through the device microphone.

App Store purchases

The optional permanent Pro unlock is purchased through Apple’s StoreKit system. Apple processes the transaction and payment information under its own policies. SyntoniaRituals reads the verified purchase entitlement supplied by Apple to decide whether Pro features are available; the developer does not receive payment-card or billing details.

Data stored on your device

SyntoniaRituals stores the content needed for your personal setup locally, including:

  • Singing Bowl presets and their instrument settings;
  • Frequency presets;
  • saved Ritual sequences, step choices, names, colours, and notes;
  • Live Rig state;
  • visual and app preferences;
  • onboarding completion state.

This information remains in the app’s local storage. It is not uploaded to a server operated by the developer and is not available to the developer.

Removing your data

You can edit or delete user-created bowls, frequencies, and Rituals from within the app where those actions are available.

Deleting SyntoniaRituals from your device removes the app and its locally stored data, subject to the normal behaviour of iOS or iPadOS device backups. Because SyntoniaRituals does not maintain an account or remote database, the developer cannot view, export, restore, or delete your local content on your behalf.

Audio and background operation

SyntoniaRituals generates sound in real time and may continue audio playback when the app is not in the foreground. This background-audio capability does not collect or transmit personal data.

Children’s privacy

SyntoniaRituals does not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user. The app does not provide accounts, advertising, social features, or a channel for submitting personal information.

Support messages

If you contact support by email, the information you choose to include in that message is handled by the email services used to send and receive it. Support correspondence is used only to understand and answer your request. Do not send sensitive personal information.

This website and external services

This policy describes the SyntoniaRituals app. This website is hosted through GitHub Pages, and links may lead to Apple or other external services. Those services may process technical information under their own privacy policies. SyntoniaRituals does not receive that information merely because you use the app.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated if a future version changes how data is handled—for example, by adding optional cloud services, remote diagnostics, analytics, or another network feature. The revised policy will identify its effective date and the app features it covers.

SyntoniaRituals is a focused companion to Syntonia. It grows from the same instrument-design and acoustic-synthesis work, then follows a distinct path centred on guided sequences and audiovisual composition. Syntonia is the broader instrument platform, with interval-based tunings, MIDI/MPE support, and an AUv3 extension. It remains under active development.
